hello, 2021.

Well… Good day, everyone! Happy New Year!

I know it has been awhile since I last wrote, but I am sure that I am not the only one who had a hectic end of the year.

Once November hit, I personally felt like there was no time to do anything, let alone write my blog. My whole family in Georgia ended up contracting Covid-19 and my grandmother, which many of you know, had a seizure due to Covid. It was a scary time and she had to undergo many weeks of love and care because she couldn’t speak or remember names or much of anything for that matter. On top of my grandmother being sick and requiring constant care, my parents along with my brothers all had to help while having Covid. It was difficult having to witness everything through FaceTime as many of you have had to do throughout the year 2020. My family took a hard hit mentally, physically and emotionally during this year. So, to say that we were happy to see it leave was an understatement.

BUT! The amazing part is, is that my grandmother recovered! She now is fully coherent and loving life! And my family also recovered as well. Little by little things are going back to normal and we are excited to see where this new year will take us. God has been faithful all of 2020 even if you thought you were walking alone, He was always there!

SO, now that we have entered into the year 2021, what now?

We all know about New Year Resolutions. Come on. We have all made them once January starts. And some of us may have accomplished some of our goals, but most of us barely make it through the first two weeks of January. NO JUDGEMENT HERE!

But one thing that I personally desire for myself for this new year is to grow my faith.

How can we grow our faith in 2021?

I'm sure you've heard of S.M.A.R.T. goals - specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time-bound. While these apply to many aspects of our lives like health and finances; it does not work the same with our faith.

Think about what you want God to do in your life this year. If it's something you can attain yourself, it's too small for God.

Our goal this year needs to be : DREAM DREAMS THAT GO BEYOND YOURSELF.

Growing our faith muscles begins with dreaming God-sized dreams. It is going beyond ourselves into God's plan and will for us.

These are the dreams that take you out of your comfort zone so that your only dependence is upon Him. Because when Jesus said "All things are possible", this possibility does not rest on your ability. It rests on His will. And if you are ready to take your faith to the next level this new year, He is just as willing to take you there!

Be open. Be willing. Be hungry.

I truly believe that God wants to expand us in 2021. He desires for us to hand over our will to Him so that He can show us that all things are possible whenever we trust Him. If you had a rough year last year, release it. Leave it in the past. Because when you are walking with God, He makes all things new.

Galatians 2:20 TPT says,

20 “My old identity has been co-crucified with Messiah and no longer lives; for the nails of his cross crucified me with him. And now the essence of this new life is no longer mine, for the Anointed One lives his life through me—we live in union as one! My new life is empowered by the faith of the Son of God who loves me so much that he gave himself for me, and dispenses his life into mine!“

Let’s expand our faith muscle this year!

My prayer for you today is…

Dear God,

We look into this New Year with so much hope that you continue to make all things new. Thank you for your sustaining grace that has brought us through 2020. May this year be a year where our faith grows in leaps and bounds as we throw ourselves completely into your will and purposes for our lives! Amen!

I look forward to spending 2021 with you all!
